Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value.
~Albert Einstein
When we are children, we dream of being successful. How do we define success? Merriam-Webster's dictionary defines it as a "favorable or desired outcome, such as the attainment of wealth, favor, or eminence". To the world, success means money, title, and awards. I'd like to propose that there is something that is more important to achieve...value. I often find myself thinking about this very thing, especially in business. It would be very easy to look at my life and say that I'm not a success because I haven't achieved those things that society defines as successful. However, in every thing I do, I bring knowledge, experience, and a desire to help however I am able. If I am bringing value to those around me, my family, my clients, my friends, my colleagues, then I have achieved success.
What value do you bring to the world around you, whether personally or professionally?
